This website is about trees. I love being outside, especially when I get to be in a forest or other area with trees. I love especially gazing at the branches and leaves of trees and tracing where they begin, where they go, where they branch off, where they end. I also love to watch trees swaying in the wind. It is such a beautiful sight. It is also a beautiful, and sometimes terrifying, sound to behold.
Trees swaying in the wind also remind me of a verse from the Prophet Isaiah, "...and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." (Is 55:12b, RSV-CE). I first learned of this verse from the title of a Sufjan Stevens song from his album Seven Swans.
